HOFFMAN REUNION

The 53rd annual Hoffman family reunion was held in Flatonia on Sunday, June 10, 2001. Roy Blackwell said the blessing before lunch. Lunch consisted of side dishes and desserts brought by each family and barbeque brisket and chicken provided by Dan Bowling and sausage prepared by Felix Mica, Jr. After lunch a meeting was held. Milton Hoffman was welcomed after not having attended the reunion for many years and our newest family member, Kevin Kelly, was welcomed. He is three months old and the son of Sondra & Frankie Kelly. A moment of silence was held for Willie Eschenberg and Margaret Hoffman, wife of Milton Hoffman, who passed away recently. Pauline Donnell was celebrating her 85th birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. Virginia Boehnke volunteered to prepare a mailing list for all of the family and will send out reminders next year. Vernonica Hoffman and Ariel Tekesky were winners of the door prizes donated by Sharon Witte and Melissa Peikert. Kenny Witte and Millie Mica won the guessing games. Belita Hoffman donated the games. President Evelyn Mica thanked everyone who worked so hard to prepare for a very successful reunion Belita Hoffman, Tillie Kelly, Millie Mica, Sharon Witte, Melissa Peikert, Nancy Hoffmann, Dan Bowling, Bubba Mica, Jimmy Hoffman, Koby Mica, Jonathan Peikert and Matt Hoffmann. Everyone voted to have the next reunion on Sunday, June 9, 2002, and elected Evelyn Mica as president and Nancy Hoffmann as secretary.

Jimmy Hoffman was elected as lifetime auctioneer for our annual auction and for the second year led an extremely successful auction. Many handmade items were auctioned off and more than enough money was made to cover all of the expenses of the reunion. Joanie Barborak spoke to everyone about the family tree she is working on and passed out sheets to all family members to fill out and return to her.
