HOFFMAN REUNION

On Sunday, June 13, 2004, descendants of Otto and Paulino Harbich Hoffman met at the Cistern Parish Hall for their 56th annual reunion.

Roy Blackwell said the prayer before lunch and Evelyn Mica welcomed everyone to the reunion. Door prizes were given out and the winners of the guessing games were announced during the short business meeting held after lunch. Belita Hoffman provided the guessing games. Everyone agreed that a contribution would be given to the Trent Thrasher fund. His sister, Cortnie McMillan (age 8), and his father, Lewis Thrasher (age 32), lost their lives on May 23rd in an automobile wreck. Trent remains in the hospital recuperating from his injuries. Cortnie and Trent are the great grandchildren of Tillie Kelly. Everyone was asked to remember James Hoffman in their prayers. He was in the hospital. Anthony Hoffman and Daniel Johnson were welcomed to the reunion. They had not attended the reunion in many years. Also, James Hoffman, son of Teddy Hoffman, was at the reunion for the first time. And adopted relatives, Lillie and James Brune, were welcomed back. They had been living in Arizona for several years and finally moved back to Texas. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to Ruth Jackson (89 years) and Pauline Donnell (88 years). Ruths birthday was June 11th and Paulines was June 8th. Ruth was the oldest family member present this year and Emma Alexander (7 weeks) and Hayden Kelly (10 weeks) were the youngest members present. Paula Hoffman Covarrubias reported that the family history she has been working on is nearing completion and she plans to have printed copies available at the reunion in 2005. After the meeting we had our annual auction with Bubba Mica as the auctioneer. It was another huge success.
